Approval
from the Education Department |

The
Administration Circular No. 43/99 (dated 5 September 1999) of the
Education Department serves as the written permission of the Director
of Education to schools for raising funds for approved charitable
institutions exempt from taxes under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue
Ordinance. It is applicable to the fund raising for the Jump Rope
for Heart Program. Individual application to the Education Department
is not necessary.

Donation to Schools |

15%
of the fund raised will be donated to schools for the expenses of
organizing the Jump Off Day and other health-related activities.

The
Fund is used for Heart Health Promotion |
|
The
fund raised is mainly used for operating the Jump Rope for Heart
Program and organizing heart health promotional activities.

Finance
Committee |
| |
The
Finance Committee keeps a weather eye on all financial matters of
the Jump Rope for Heart Program. Members include representatives
from the Hong Kong College of Cardiology, the Education Department,
the Department of Health and schools, certified accountant and lawyer
cum arbitrator.

Fund
Raising Procedures |

Fund
raising pledges (one for each student), promotional posters and
a sample pack of JRFH souvenirs will be given to JRFH participating
schools free of charge. We hope that students can help disseminating
the heart health message (printed on the collection pledges) to
their relatives and friends during fund raising.
Schools may bank-in the fund (and fax the pay-in slip to the JRFH
secretariat) or send a cheque to the JRFH secretariat. The 15% donation
will be given to schools within 4 weeks after the fund is received.

Souvenirs
will be given to students according to the amount raised.
